Product pH: pH is a reference scale of the acid-alkaline range of a product (0-14 with 7 being neutral - like distilled water). A pH below 7 is acidic and above 7 is alkaline. A healthy pH range for skin is naturally slightly acidic, between pH 4.5 - 6. Matching your skin care product's pH to your skin's need is an important factor in its effectiveness. For instance, the very alkaline pH of many commercial skin cleansers can leave your skin's pH too alkaline which supports bacterial growth, a cause of acne and other conditions.
